The Garden today

The Food Garden July 25 2010

Can’t believe its time to plant for fall and winter already!  My potatoes haven’t flowered, I don’t even have one ripe tomatoe or full sized beet and now its time to start clearing the carrot patch to make way for fall root crops and over wintering onions!  Speaking of over wintering onions I have yet to have any success with them, but this year I promise to be diligent and attempt 3 successive planting following Steve Solomon’s “Growing West of the Cascades” approach.  Here’s to hopefully harvesting beautiful Walla Walla Onions next spring!
